The Railway      

The Railway Hotel was built in 1937 when the gold mining industry was booming. It’s Art Deco/Modernist style set it as a standard for a luxury Hotel of the era. One night tariff was equal to a normal weeks wages and that was for a suite with a common bathroom. It’s grand public spaces were packed with enthusiastic revellers celebrating their new found wealth soon after the end of the great depression.   Full Property Description
