Facilities beside the lake allow camping and fishing for those wanting to get away from it all for a few days. Water skiing is allowed in one section of the lake when water height allows. The lake attracts an abundance of birdlife making bird watching a popular activity with visitors. Eight kilometres long by one kilometre wide. People wishing to camp at Lake Elphinstone need to be self sufficient, there is one shower block and no charge applies for camping. For busy periods contact Nebo Shire Council who operate the lake.
