Moonta Lavender Farm is an owner operated tourist venue, which aims to give visitors a relaxing fragrant experience, together with an insight into the wonders of this ancient herb. The farm consists of approximately 7000 plants and a parterre garden showing over 60 different varieties in many colours and perfumes. A nursery rhyme theme has been included which is very popular with the younger visitors. Parents also enjoy the 20 minutes of peace while the children complete the quiz!
A leisurely wander amongst the plants, why not spend a while sampling a delicious Devonshire tea, complete with lavender flavoured scones in the relaxing cafe area.
The centre also has a little shop so your senses can be indulged. A range of hand creams, oils, shampoos and sprays can be tested along with a delightful range of homemade jams, marmalades and honey. The shop also boasts a selection of local craft, pot pouri and dried lavender, loose or in bunches. Lastly stock up on a few of these useful water wise plants, which are an asset in any garden.
Coach parties and other groups can be catered for, but bookings are essential for catering arrangements. Casual visitors have no need to book.
Hosted tours are available that are informative and designed to add pleasure to this experience.
